러시아와의 군사 밀착 및 파병을 계기로 북한이 유례없는 호황을 누리고 있다. 평양 시내에는 초고층 아파트단지가 들어서고 백화점에는 세계적인 명품 브랜드가 진열되는 등 표면적인 경제 활기가 눈에 띄게 증가했다. 그러나 전문가들은 이 같은 성장이 내부 구조 개혁이나 생산성 향상에 기반한 근본적 경제 성장이 아니라는 점에서, 장기적인 발전으로 이어지는 데는 한계가 있다고 입을 모은다.
“예수께서 눈을 들어 그의 제자들을 보시며 이같이 말씀하셨다 복 받은 너희는 지금은 가난하나 하나님의 나라가 너희 것이다 그러나 화로다 너희 부유한 자들이여 너희는 이미 위로를 받았다” 누가복음 6장 20절, 24절(남북한병행성경 북한어)에 말씀하신 하나님, 젊은 군인들의 피값으로 평양 거리에는 초고층 아파트와 고급 승용차, 명품들이 늘어나지만 그 외 지역들은 여전히 빈곤과 영양실조와 식량난에 시달립니다. 북한과 러시아의 불의한 밀착의 고리를 끊어 주시고, 하나님을 두려워하는 마음을 북한 지도층에 부어 주사 복음을 받아들이고 굶주리는 백성을 돌아보게 하옵소서.
