[Today’s Prayer] Illuminate the darkness of North Korea with the light of the Gospel.

October 28, 2026

“Most people have electric rice cookers, but they can hardly use them because there is no electricity. Many households use refrigerators merely as storage for dishes or snacks. Washing machines do not operate due to the paralysis of the water supply and low water pressure.” Asia Press reports that while the center of Pyongyang and large resort facilities shine brightly even at night, the provinces receive electricity for an average of only 2 to 3 hours a day, at most 4 to 5 hours, making it difficult to use appliances.

“You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low. O Lord, you are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.” 2 Samuel 22:28-29 (North Korean Parallel Bible) We lift up the people of North Korea, who have endured a period of suffering for over 80 years under the dictatorial regime. While the authorities invest astronomical sums to develop nuclear weapons to maintain their regime, they neglect the food and electricity supply for the people. Lord, please govern the pride of the North Korean authorities. Rebuild the lives of the broken people on the foundation of Your Word, and illuminate the darkness of the land of North Korea with the light of the Gospel.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
