[Today’s Reason] May idolatry cease and may God’s name be exalted.

The Pyongyang City Party Committee has instructed various levels of the city to raise funds under the pretext of preserving and managing the Kim Il-sung Square. They have distributed educational materials to institutions, enterprises, universities, schools, and people’s units, promoting Kim Il-sung as the “founder of socialist Korea and the Party” and Kim Jong-il as the “leader who protected the homeland and opened the future through military politics during the arduous march.” They emphasized that the Kim Il-sung Square, where the bodies of these two leaders are enshrined, is an “eternal holy place of the sun that must be defended for generations.” However, the residents are expressing economic burdens.

“Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by myself; the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.'” Isaiah 45:22-23 (North Korean Parallel Bible). O God, may the sin of idolatry in North Korea, which makes people bow down to mere men while ruling as false gods, cease. Let the strongholds of idols be broken down, and may only the name of God, who died on the cross and triumphed over sin and death, be exalted and worshipped.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
