It has been reported that the immigration camp in Bangkok for North Korean defectors has been empty since last week. The immigration camp has been a place where North Korean defectors have continued to enter for the past 20 years and it has been the gateway to enter South Korea for an average of 70% of North Korean defectors. In the aftermath of the new coronavirus, defectors are unable to travel to Thailand since it has been impossible to travel out to China, and Laos has been blocked by troops. This has resulted in an unprecedented situation in which there are no North Korean defectors in the Thai immigration camp. We pray for the stability of the situation so that the North Korean defectors who are in trouble will be able to move safely under the guidance of God.
“The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!’” (Deuteronomy 33:27)
Lord, we pray for your protection over everyone defecting from North Korea. Recently, North Korean defectors are in a difficult situation because their traveling has been restricted due to COVID-19. We pray that the containment will be lifted so that North Korean defectors who are in trouble will be able to move freely. We also pray that North Koreans who are suffering will be able to hear the Gospel, live in the protection promised in the Word, and recover by the grace of God.
