A family of five in Chongjin, North Hamgyong Province, who showed suspicious symptoms of the new corona, were all found dead in the house. Five people who died were identified as a retired old couple, their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchild. In North Korea, if a corona infection is suspected, the doors of the house are nailed to prevent suspected patients from coming out. Sources from North Korea said that although infected patients are concentrated in Pyongyang, North and South Pyongan, Chongjin and Najin of North Hamgyong Province, the only measures taken by the North Korean authorities are quarantine and inter-regional movement control. We pray for the North Koreans who are facing death in the tragic situation of being trapped in nailed houses. May the people cry out to God and put their hopes in Him.
“Hear my prayer, O Lord! And let my cry for help come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; In the day when I call answer me quickly. For my days have been consumed in smoke, And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.” (Psalm 102:1-3)
Lord, we raise up to you North Koreans who are suffering from the pandemic. As the author of Psalm 102 cried out in great trouble, may the North Koreans also pray earnestly for Your answer. Help them to realize through this desperate situation that people are not saved by the power of man but only by the power of God. Even when the deadly virus is prevalent, we praise you Lord, the King of kings and the Ruler of history.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
