It is said that drug trafficking, which has been quiet for a while under the control of North Korean authorities, has recently raised its head again. It is rumored that methamphetamine, also called ‘ice’, is effective in preventing and treating COVID-19, thus leading to many people trying to sell the drug to make money. One inhabitant of North Hamgyong Province said that many people are risking their lives and plunging into the drug trafficking as the virus outbreaks have controlled the activities of the Jangmadang, making their lives difficult. We pray that the food and medicines needed by the North Koreans, especially the Christians, will be delivered, and we pray that the Bible will be delivered to strengthen the spirit and body.
“But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:18-19
May Paul’s confession become the confession of the North Korean believers whose lives are being threatened. We pray that the needed supplies will be provided through saints like Epaphroditus, and above all, we pray that the Bible will be delivered to nurture them.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
