There is no official COVID-19 confirmation in North Korea, but there are quite a few known infectious diseases. Experts noted that more than 30% of North Korea’s population suffer from infectious diseases, and 25% of all deaths die from infectious diseases. In particular, about 20,000 people die of tuberculosis every year, and 9 million people are at risk of developing malaria. Also, most people are concerned that they are threatened by large and small infectious diseases such as typhoid, paratyphoid, cholera, measles, diphtheria, pertussis, leptospirosis, and syphilis. We pray that their poor lives and medical conditions will be improved and that they would be blessed by receiving eternal life by having the opportunity to hear the word of God.
“Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;” Psalm 34:12-15
Lord, we lift up to you North Koreans living in the midst of serious infectious disease. May the North Korean regime’s money be used to increase the quality of life of the people and not their own comfort. By extending their lives, may they be given the opportunity to listen to the word of God and receive eternal life as a gift by submitting to the truth.
