[Prayer] May We Never Cease Our Prayer for the Gospel-based Reunification

“The reunification of our country will be brought by God. God has been working for decades. I believe that God who gave us liberation will also allow reunification. God’s will and plan are surely in progress. Let us pray for the day when we will be unified by God’s grace. Mission in North Korea is difficult. It does not work well. It’s hard to get a single fruit after shoveling a hundred times. However, I hope that we continue to be true children of God, crying with the father, and not just praying to God to receive something.” This is part of a lecture that a North Korean defector pastor gave. We pray that the prayer for North Korea will not be ceased until the day of the reunification comes in accordance with God’s time and will.

“Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mark 14: 37-39)

God, who told us to keep watch and pray, we confess that though we pray for the evangelization and reunification of North Korea, there were many times we felt discouraged when there seemed to be no progress. However, we believe that the reunification will be accomplished by your hands, Lord, in your time and your methods. Lord, please strengthen us so that we may not commit the sin of ceasing our prayers until the day of the Gospel-based reunification, where the saints of the South and the North will become one to lift up your name.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
