“In Pyongyang, there are heating systems, but because not much electricity is provided, we have to put on as many clothes as we can. In other regions, a large amount of coal is burned. Also, in order to stop the cold wind from coming in through the doors, papers are used to seal the gaps between the doors. These things are enough to help you get through winter. When I lived in North Korea, my house used to bring in electricity from a factory. We kept the floor warm by having an electric heating mat on the floor. It was better to endure winter by saving the money that used to be spent on burning woods and coals.” This was an explanation from a North Korean defector who was in one of the video clips on media. We pray for relief work to take place with the ministry of the word of God all over North Korean regions that are in need of help.
“So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.” This proposal pleased the whole group.” Acts 6:2-5
Lord, we raise up to you North Koreans who are worried about the harsh winter season. Just as the ministry of the word and relief work was done in the Early Church, may the word of God that is nourishment to the soul and the winter preparations such as heating supplies be provided to North Koreans in a timely manner so that they can experience God who saves our body, spirit, and soul.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
