A large amount of labor force and resources of the residents are being invested into the Samjiyeon county of Yangkang province project in developing Kim’s Family sanctuary into a special tourism zone. The construction of Samjiyeon county was originally planned to be completed in 2018, but it was postponed to September 9th of this year due to the shortage of funds and construction materials. Even with the postponement, as the construction progress is not improving, the North Korean authorities are being frowned upon for demanding the mobilization of the labor force and confiscating food, materials, and cash of the residents. Moreover, in order to make Samjiyeon, which has a small population, into a city, many residents including graduates of Medical School of Hyeosan, are being forced to migrate. We pray that Samjiyeon’s idolization project to make Kim Jong Il’s birthplace a first-class tourist site no longer progresses.
“Wherever you dwell, the cities shall be waste and the high places ruined, so that your altars will be waste and ruined, your idols broken and destroyed, your incense altars cut down, and your works wiped out.” Based on the words of Ezekiel 6:6, Lord we lift up to you the construction work of Samjiyeon which is part of the idolization work. A few months ago, North Korea appealed to international organizations of extreme food shortage and requested support. Nevertheless, Kim Jung Un insists on developing the tourist site that is not urgent at all. We pray that the Samjiyeon county development project, which does not take care of public welfare but extort the blood of the residents, will be stopped, and the dissatisfaction of the residents will be amplified so that the idolization of Kim’s family will be greatly damaged.
