[Prayer] The Impact of Chinese Church on Korean Church ②
“An evil ruler is God’s judgment on the wicked people, and the goal of the judgment is to encourage the people of God to repent and return to God … God is using this persecution to guide us to know Jesus … I think the communist regime is afraid of the church because the church is not afraid of the power of darkness.” This is an excerpt from the <Declaration of Disobedience of Faith> written by Pastor Wang Yi of the Chengdu Early Rain Covenant Church in Sichuan, China. This declaration is an example of a saint who by grace does not give up love and obedience towards God even in the midst of hardship and persecution. This is a sharp contrast with the corruption of Korean and immigrant churches, pastors, and members.
“Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one.” Lord, who spoke of the direction the Saints should go in Hebrews 11:16, we give you thanks and glory for Pastor Wang Yi, a stump of faith left in the land of China. We pray that the Korean and immigrant churches will receive this confession as God’s counsel to get out of prosperity gospel and instead realize that “suffering is a blessing, the result of obedience is not prosperity but death first, and the kingdom of heaven will be completed at the end day.” We also pray that we will overcome and triumph the approaching time of suffering through the fear of God instead of the fear of the world.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
