China applies state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to the whole population and monitors and controls them on an individual basis. Face recognition cameras, which take less than 10 seconds to verify identification, are expanded to include Beijing and Shanghai as well as rural areas. By 2020, the number of surveillance cameras is expected to be two per person. China integrates all data connected to the Internet, such as home smart TV and personal smartphone, in addition to CCTV on the street, and is building a thorough monitoring network to watch the whole people. In other word, China has become a rigid totalitarian controlled social system.
We pray that our missionaries’ identity and ministry information would be fully protected by the hands of God from the Chinese government that is against God’s people.
