[Prayer] North Korean overseas workers get access to external information through smartphones
“Most North Korean officers who bought their smartphone in China use the Internet, and they mainly watch Korean news or Korean dramas.” This is what a North Korean official in China that Daily NK recently met testified. Although the North Korean authorities have thoroughly blocked external information from their overseas workers, it is clear that some people have access to the Internet through smartphones and various information such as news from South Korea.
He also testified, “I kept being told from the authorities not to see it, which made me more curious about it, so I was looking for it.” Although the North Korean authorities are focusing on blocking the outside information from overseas workers, they are having adverse effects only by increasing the curiosity of the workers. In addition, North Korean overseas workers, who were trapped in controlled information and propaganda, have become frustrated in the North Korean authorities by accessing external information via the Internet.
We pray that more and more North Korean people would get access to external information through advanced technology so that they would discover the reality of North Korea, which leads them to desire a life of freedom and prosperity. Moreover, through smartphones, North Koreans would be able to hear the gospel that changes the course of their lives in a powerful way.
“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Matthew 10:26-28
