[Prayer] North Korea threatens to suspend negotiations with the United States
Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui of North Korea issued a threat to break off negotiations with the United States at a news conference in Pyongyang on March 15. “We have neither the intention to compromise with the U.S. in any form nor much less the desire or plan to conduct this kind of negotiation,” she said. Choe also accused U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton of creating an “atmosphere of hostility and mistrust” that obstructed the negotiations between Trump and Kim. According to Choe, after the Hanoi meeting ended without a deal, Kim Jong-un had serious doubts about the merits of continuing negotiations with Trump (Source from The New York Times & Breitabart of March 15).
A government official from South Korea said, “Recently, when US senior officials tightened sanctions on North Korea, North Korea might be in a position to fight back,” which means rather than breaking off the dialogue, North Korea responds to the pressure of the U.S. by having a news conference in order to watch the reaction of the Trump administration (Source from JoongAng Daily of Mach 15). We pray that North Korea would give up its nuclear power and choose a way to save its people.
“All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
