[Prayer] Protect the remaining North Korean families from the severe surveillance of the regime
The North Korean authorities have raised the level of surveillance for the remaining North Korean families who have North Korean defectors. For example, the Cheongam Security Office under the Chungjin Security Bureau in North Hamgyong Province is reported the targets’ every movement 24 hours through the helpers around the targets. It seems to be intercepting cell phone conversations. All the details of family conversations including when, where, and what they do are handed over to the security agents. In particular, those who have a history of failed attempts to escape North Korea are classified as those who are subject to centralized monitoring. Because they are difficult to issue certificates when traveling to other regions, they are restricted from visiting relatives in China or using Chinese mobile phones, which hinders their livelihoods activities. Prayer is needed for the North Korean families suffering from close monitoring of the North Korean authorities.
In Psalms 9:9, God says, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” I lift up the North Korean authorities who don’t stop watching North Korean defector families and those who are suffering from that. May the crackdown of the security office be neutralized, and may those who talk to their family members in South Korea or outsiders in China be protected. Please open an environment where they can freely communicate and talk. Especially, let the monitoring and control of the North Korean authorities not be a stumbling block to the Gospel. May God’s Word be preached throughout North Korea. Please grant us a joyful day of gospel reunification. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
