[Prayer] North Korean teenagers prefer construction work rather than studying

The number of students who go to construction sites in the outskirts of North Korea is increasing rapidly. Most of the boys, aged 14 to 17, work in transporting construction materials from railways, roads, and historic sites, and they receive 5 to 10 yuan of Chinese money to buy 2 to 3 kg of food. The school encourages absent students to go to school, but the students are looking for work through a broker near Jangmadang, believing that livelihoods are better at the construction site than going to school where they are suffering from compulsory mobilization and being pressured for subsidies. Prayer is needed for the next generation of North Koreans, who have no dream of the future and are making efforts to earn a living on the labor field.

In Psalm 110: 3, God says, “Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb.” I lift up the next generation of North Korea. Let the North Korean students be aware of the reality of the false Juche ideology that teaches them that everything in North Korea exists for Kim’s family through what they see, hear, experience while they go out to work. May a new environment be established where the North Korean students, who go to labor instead of studying for their living, are able to go to school and receive education freely. Above all, have mercy on all the youth and children of North Korea to hear the Gospel in an unrestricted environment. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
