[Prayer] North Korean women don’t receive appropriate treatment although they are suffering from gynecological diseases

In North Korea, gynecological diseases are known to be as serious as tuberculosis and hepatitis. Although the North Korean authorities have defined contraception as an illegal activity because of the decline in the population after the ‘North Korean famine’, North Korean women have used bad contraceptive devices for a long time and got inflammatory disease because they are not able to give birth to children in a situation where they cannot afford to eat. For these North Korean women, there is no alternative but to prescribe antibiotics in the hospital. However, it is difficult to even purchase one bottle of antibiotics in Jangmadang due to the high cost. The North Korean authorities just emphasize the fertility policy, and offer no fundamental solution to those who are suffering from complications without getting treatment. Prayer is needed to improve the medical environment of North Korea, which is lagging behind under the closed system, and to supply necessary medicines to the North Korean people.

In Matthew 14:14, God says, “When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” I lift up the North Korean women who are not receiving proper treatment due to poor medical conditions. Please have mercy on the North Korean people who are not able to get medical treatment because there is no enough supply of necessary medicines in hospitals and Jangmadang due to the North Korean system despite the humanitarian assistance of the international community. May the North Korean people gain new strength and comfort through the Word of God as God looks at their spiritual hunger and makes the land of North Korea filled with the Gospel. Let North Korea quickly open its door and let the basic needs of the North Korean people be met. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
