[Prayer] North Korean authorities are strengthening internal control ahead of September 9th
In the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the North Korean regime, a special amnesty was implemented to reduce prison terms by three year. The prisoners who received the three-year sentencing is to be immediately released and inmates who had been sentenced more than five years had a reduced sentence. However, the authorities’ surveillance has been intensified to prevent the escape of the residents who were released. Last February, April, June and August, the North Korean authorities, who are working on the illegal border search in the national holidays, will treat North Korean defectors as political prisoners. As September 9th, the 70th Anniversary of the North Korean regime is approaching, internal control of the residents being further strengthened.
The reason why North Korean refugees are being subjected to severe punishment is because they are regarded as a dangerous force that can bring collapse to the North Korean regime. Thus, we must pray that more escapees from North Korea will hear the Gospel and return to North Korea to have North Korean regime shake and collapse. In addition, pray that they can travel without any obstruction and their environment will be safe to meet Christian workers.
I pray by claiming God’s Word from Psalm 94:14, “For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.” May more escapees cross over the border to hear the Gospel and return to North Korea. Protect them as they hear and proclaim the Gospel. May they not meet those who are trying to approach with falsehood and deception. Close those eyes of who are trying to capture them. Please do not let their shelters be exposed. And may meet those who should hear the gospel. Ultimately, let the land of North Korea be full of light of God’s glory! I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
