Lee Jung-ho, a former senior executive of Labor Party Room 39, the head of North Korea’s foreign currency, said, “The wages of the Kaesong Industrial Complex are sent to Room 39 through North Korean Labor Party United Front Department to be used as the governing fund. The fund is used in strengthening defense power, including nuclear development, importing luxury goods, operating the Labor Party, and constructing political achievements.” He also revealed that “the wages of the workers at the Kaesong Industrial Complex are only between $0.3 and 0.4, and the working environment within the complex which is surrounded by barbed wires under military surveillance, reminds us of the labor camps.” We pray that the sanctions against North Korea will become more effective, depleting Kim Jong-un’s governing funds and leading to system instability.
Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. (Isaiah 41:11-12)
Lord, we pray against the wickedness of the North Korean regime that is exploiting even the wages of the workers at the Kaesong Industrial Complex to use as governing funds. The money taken from the workers’ living expenses is spent on making nuclear and missiles, buying all kinds of luxury goods, filling their own stomachs, and maintaining their system. Lord, we pray that you remember the sufferings of the oppressed citizens and protect them as written in Isaiah. We also pray that the leaders of North Korea repent of their terrible sins so that they would not meet the fate of those who have forsaken God.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
