The Asahi newspaper cited a UN report that North Korea is sending hundreds of IT professionals to foreign countries to earn between $3,000 to $5,000 per person to increase foreign currency earnings. North Korean IT specialists are working undercover all over the world through web sites and are receiving orders to work on software programming and others. They are also involved in cyberattacks that steal cryptocurrencies and have been accused of at least 35 attacks from December 2015 to May this year, illegally acquiring up to $2 billion. The report points out that the money is used to develop weapons of mass destruction (WMD). We pray that North Korea’s illegal acts, which mock sanctions against North Korea, will no longer be committed, and that North Korea will be a nation of justice.
“Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he does not know that the dead[a] are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.” Proverbs 9:17-18
Lord, we lift up to you North Korea, which is unfairly benefiting from sending illegal overseas workers and from cyberattacks. They believe and show that stealing is human wisdom, power, and skill, but Lord, you have said that stealing is a sin that will result in eternal punishment. Please have mercy on North Korea so that they may become an honest member of the international community by stopping illegal acts in order to obtain the costs of regime maintenance and funding for weapon development. May North Korea also surrender and turn to your Word.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
