Thae Yong-ho, a former North Korean diplomat, said that the Kim Jong Un regime will not be maintained for more than 20 years because the awareness of North Korean residents, centered on the younger generation, is changing at a slow rate. He stated that as the younger generation is learning about the world beyond North Korea through foreign video clips, they are losing interest in the state ideology that is being forced on them. He also pointed out that it is inevitable for the North Koreans working abroad to have different thoughts after learning the concept of freedom, human rights, and capitalism. North Koreans seem to be loyal to the regime on the surface but at night they are secretly watching South Korean dramas, thus Thae Yong-ho insisted that more information must be taken in. We pray that outside information, above all, the gospel will knock on the hearts of North Koreans so that they may enjoy the blessings of salvation.
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.” We pray through the words of Revelation 3:20-21 that the North Korean people will hear the voice of Jesus Christ when they hear the gospel and through Him be seated on the throne as victorious ones. As the outside information and culture are transmitted into North Korea, the awareness of the people, centered on the young generation, is growing. May they be given the opportunity and the ears to hear God’s Word and enjoy the blessing of accepting Jesus as the Lord, and may they not be lost in the worldly things. For this to happen, we pray that more bibles will be delivered into North Korea and that there will be more evangelists to preach the gospel.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
