[Prayer] 60 Percent of North Korean Women Defector Are Victims of Sex Crime

A large number of North Korean women in China are being trafficked and forced into marriage. According to a report by a British NGO, about 60% of female North Korean defectors were trafficked into the prostitution market. Among them, 50% of them are involved in prostitution, over 30% in forced marriages, and 15% in cybersex, which contains a shocking case of a 9-years old girl doing sexual acts in front of a webcam that is broadcasted live all over the world. We pray that the evil acts of China targeting even children for sexual exploitation, and the evil acts of North Korea encouraging this situation by only spectating, will cease.

“Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the oppressed– and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors– and they have no comforter.” Lord, like the verse in Ecclesiastes 4:1, we lift up to you this situation where many North Korean girls and women are being sexually abused in China. Not only are they forced into marrying Chinese men, but they are also exposed to prostitution, rape, shooting pornography, and more. Through sexual exploitation of North Korean women, the underground prostitution market in China has earned significant economic benefits. Lord, we pray that you wipe away the tears of the abused and oppressed and that the governments of each nation will not be silent upon the problem of North Korean defectors so that no additional victims will arise.
