[Prayer] The Socialism Holiday idolizing Kim’s Family in North Korea
North Korea doesn’t celebrate the Chinese New Year, but New Year’s Day. Kim Il Sung declared that North Korea celebrated New Year’s Day because he defined the Chinese New Year as a vestige of feudal society. The Chinese New Year has a day off. Kim Jong Il’s birthday on February 16 and Kim Il Sung’s birthday on April 15 are considered the nation’s biggest festivals in North Korea. In the name of the so-called socialism holiday, the key figures in North Korea worship the golden palace and praise Kim’s family and pledge allegiance to them on these days. The general North Korean residents go to the statue of Kim’s family, bow down, and have a ceremony of offering flowers.
Unlike South Korea, there is no memorial ceremony for ancestors in North Korea, but every day and every event is focused on worshiping Kim’s family. We repent North Korea’s idolatry on their behalf and pray for them to return back to God.
“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean;
I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.”
Ezekiel 36:25
