[Prayer] Let the North Korean regime focus on improving the life of residents!
Thae Yong-ho, a former North Korean diplomat, said that the most surprising part of Kim Jong Un’s New Year message was “the military industry is actively supporting the construction of the economy.” This is because there is no precedent in North Korea’s history of linking the military industry and the civilian industry. Thae Yong-ho analyzed this message like this: “It shows the restructuring of the military resources used in the defense sector to the civilian industry, which means North Korea expressed confidence that it no longer focuses on investing in conventional weapons after the declaration of the completion of nuclear weapon.”
Kim Jong Un also said in his New Year message, “Improving people’s lives dramatically is the most important task of our party and the nation.” For this, he highlighted the four leading sectors such as power, coal, metal industry, and railroad transportation and emphasized the importance of solving power problems.
We need to pray that these remarks will not end with an ear-pleasing slogan but lead to resolve the hardship of life that North Korean residents have endured.
