[Prayer] Pray for the value of honoring parents to be restored in North Korea
A 70-year-old woman died at the police station in Bukchang-gun, South Pyongan Province. The story is like this. When her daughter, who lived with her, could not pay her debts, the house went over and the old woman went to the house of her son who was rich. But she was kicked out of her son’s house so that she was starved to death at the police station.
Materialism and individualism are spreading within North Korea as the so-called ‘marketplace generation,’ who does not rely on the North Korean authorities and makes money for themselves to solve their livelihoods, has emerged. In addition, the traditional value of taking care of parents is being destroyed. As a result, neglected elderly people are increasingly being killed on the road or forced into the nursing homes.
Prayer is needed for the North Korean people to obey God’s word to honor their parents with the fear of the Lord without selfishness!
“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives,
and especially for their own household,
has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
1 Timothy 5:8
