[Prayer] Let the borderline surveillance between North Korea and China be withdrawn shortly
China has strengthened its crackdown on neighboring borders with North Korea. It has installed high-tech cameras capable of recognizing texts away from 2 km, and is monitoring the abnormal behavior of North Koreans. So if China see any signs of North Koreans smuggling or fleeing from North Korea through the camera, it immediately arrests them and hands them over to the North. It is almost impossible for North Koreans to cross the Yalu and Tumen rivers and into China as China has used thermal cameras at night. Some say that it is even hard for an ant to pass. North Koreans, who are suffering from the cold weather without heating, are trying to cross over to China in order to find their daily necessities, but coming to China has become so difficult because of this severe surveillance from China. Prayer is needed for the borderline surveillance to be withdrawn shortly so that North Koreans are able to find their necessities by crossing over to China, and above all to hear the Gospel.
In Psalm 107: 26, 28, 29, God says, “They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.” I lift up the North Korean people who are concerned about personal safety because of the installment of surveillance cameras at the border area. The surveillance of the border area between North Korea and China has become very heavy. Chinese police have strengthened the crackdown, and also the North Korean reconnaissance squad is also tightening the monitoring, which might cause the defection itself to be blocked. Let the surveillance become loose so that the severe punishment for the defection will stop. Also, have China make a shift in the perceptions of North Korean defectors from objects of repatriation to protection. Let the anti-human forced repatriation stop immediately and let those who want to stay in China or to go to South Korea be protected systematically by establishing legal devices. May criminal activities that take place while people are escaping from North Korea such as trafficking, labor exploitation, assault, and illegal detention be prevented. Above all, let the North Korean defectors who come to China meet with the people of God who preach the gospel, not the evil person who wants to abuse them, so that they may believe in Jesus Christ and be blessed to have the eternal life.
