[Prayer] Praying for North Koreans suffering from the forced food collection
North Korea reserves preliminary food in preparation for war every year. This year, the collection of food for war began from this month, which is earlier than normal. The unprecedented heat and drought has reduced yields this year, but the quota is increasing, creating a conflict between the inspectors and farm officials. Last year, the inspectors took the grain after the threshing was completely over. But this time, the grain is being taken directly from the field. For farmers, they have to distribute harvested grain to their staffs and pay back the farming funds borrowed at the rice-planting season. There is a voice of dissatisfaction about the upper class which does not consider this situation at all and collects rice only by all means. Prayer is needed for the North Korean people whose food has been exploited even in a bad harvest season.
In Deuteronomy 26:7-8, God says, “Then we cried out to the Lord, the God of our ancestors, and the Lord heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression. So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders.” I lift up and pray for the North Korean people who are suffering from the forced food collection. Lord, due to heavy drought, farming is not good enough to reduce yields. Nevertheless, farmers have to fill the national quota anyway. Please help them avoid excessive exploitation in the process of food collection, and provide good food to those who do not have food by spring. Fundamentally, may the sins of North Korea stop so that people can see the hands of God restoring their land. I praise God with high expectations that he will deliver North Korea through his mighty hands. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
