[Prayer] A North Korean resident arrested for speaking to their families in South Korea, beaten, tortured and eventually dead
The 73-year-old resident, Mr. Huh was arrested while in conversation with South Korean families in early September, and was constantly beaten, tortured and eventually dead on the 20ths of September. He had been in detention and not eaten properly, and he had been constantly beaten with the 20kg club on his face. Families who had heard of his death asked to hand over the body, but the provincial bureau returned his family, saying there was no land for the traitor.
It is not a special event in North Korea but a routine of what happened to Mr. Huh. The most frightening thing for the North Korean regime is that North Koreans know about the reality of North Korea through the contact with the outside world. That’s why the regime established the punishment in 2015 for punishing a person who has made international communication with less than one year of labor training or less than 5 years of labor correction. Therefore, the prayer is needed for more external information to flow into North Korea, and especially for the Gospel to cover the land of North Korea. In addition, there is in need of prayer that the North Korean people will not be harmed in the process of revealing the secrets inside North Korea.
In Psalm 99: 1, God says, “The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.” I lift up a situation where the North Korean authorities are ruthlessly punishing the people who were created in the image of God in the process of removing the threats of the system. Let the North Korea’s evil deed of torturing and killing people in order to control the ideology of the residents stop. Let more information come into North Korea, reveal the secrets inside North Korea, and let more North Koreans realize the reality of North Korea.
