[Prayer] A North Korean is at risk of death due to poverty

In late August, a Donju (Emerging capitalist in North Korea), suffering from chronic nephritis in Samsu County, Yanggang Province, bought a kidney from a poor 50’s inhabitant and received an illegal kidney transplant at Hyesan Hospital. However, a kidney donor was at risk of death due to surgery side effects. A Kidney donor is currently diagnosed with the transfer to the Pyongyang Red Cross Hospital, but he does not know when the train will go to Pyongyang and is unable to receive treatment because there is no way to travel in a service car. The other North Koreans emphasized that if the donor is dead, the punishment will not be applied to the doctor who did the illegal transplant and the Donju who bought the organ because North Korea is a place where all things are possible with money.

It is an incident that can recognize the terrible situation of North Korea in various ways such as poor medical system, transportation infrastructure, and materialism. It is regrettable that the profits the Donju made through bribery by buying from the forest supervisor the small land where the inhabitant of a village who worked for 10 years was confiscated as a reason of tree planting, were used for this organ sale. We need much prayer for North Korea where the gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger and there is no way for an individual to gain wealth unless using an illegal way.

In Micah 7:18, God says, “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.” We lift up and pray for North Koreans who is suffering in the harsh environment due to the North Korean regime whose priority is maintaining the system. May the Gospel reunification take place so that North Koreans who have lived under dictator regime for 70 years will have freedom. Give the desire for eternal life to those in the upper class of North Korea and let them begin to seek freedom and peace that the convenience and pleasure of material gain cannot give. When they hear the Gospel, please give them a gift of faith in confessing Jesus Christ as the Son of God. May all North Korean high-ranking officials and their children who experience the outside world be aware of the contradiction of the current regime. Please give us the heart to devote ourselves to the community and the next generation, not to be obsessed with gaining things for ourselves. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
