[Prayer] North Korea actively utilizes the Inter-Korean summit and media in order to strengthen the Kim Jong Un regime
Immediately after the inter-Korean summit of 18 years ago, the negative image that the South Koreans had about North Korea changed to expectation and favor. It was absurd to see how Kim Jong Un, who has never watched over the North Koreans starving to death while paying astronomical costs to maintain Kim Il Sung’s body for worship, was regarded as a “trustworthy person” and had a cheering fan club after the summit. Through this inter-Korean summit, North Korea promoted the image of Kim Jong Un as a great leader and actively used the media in order to beautify him as a friendly person, not an abnormal person. In addition, North Korea sends news of the summit talks to the North through the official media, Chosun Central Communication, and does not mention denuclearization, which is one of the core agendas, and provides only selective and limited information to the residents.
If the current economic support of the South Korean government is provided to North Korea in the situation that North Korea is carrying out human rights abuses and strengthening its internal control, the suffering of the North Koreans will only be prolonged. Much prayer is needed that North Korea, which has continued military provocations although North Korea had received economic aid from the international community and South Korea before the sanctions were imposed, will not use South Korea as a source to break the immediate economic difficulties. It is necessary to pray for the North to fulfill its full denuclearization, not partial dismantlement of nuclear facilities or missiles, without deceiving South Korea. In addition, prayer is needed for the unification of the gospel to be carried out on the Korean Peninsula, not the unification under communism that North Korea has constantly pursued so far.
In Psalm 9:6-7, God says, “Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished. The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.” I lift a situation in which North Korea is doing its best to maintain the regime. Rule the evil North Korean regime against God with your strong arms. In the situation of the Korean peninsula, which cannot be predicted, please give South Korea a sense of wisdom and ability to respond quickly and aggressively without being deceived by North Korea. Please cover the North with the words of God’s truth, and let North Korea become a nation that no longer lags and fears the LORD. Let the perfect denuclearization and gospel reunification be done so that this nation and its people will worship God and be used for the expansion of the kingdom of God.
