[Prayer] May it be the Chuseok holiday that only God is exalted!
Chuseok holidays began today. There are reports of traffic flooding the streets with vehicles leaving for their hometowns. I pray that it will be a Chuseok holiday to meet and love our parents and family as our ancestors said that “No more, no less, just be like Chuseok.” Above all, we, the people of God, need to pray for stopping idol worship, such as bowing to the grave and offering sacrifices, in the name of worshiping our ancestors.
In Deuteronomy 7:26, God says, “Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.” I give thanks to God for giving us time to meet family members and share fellowship of joy in Chuseok holidays. I ask for your mercy to make each family who meets its parents and relatives stop committing the sin of bowing down and giving sacrifice in the name of worshiping ancestors. Please pour out your grace so that we can give thanks only to God who gives us rich grain and fruits, and enjoy the times of grace in which families meet, have a fellowship in faith, serve and worship God alone. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
