There were 85 loses of life in the recent flood that swept across the north-eastern North Korea. According to the official media channel, the natural disaster resulted in at least 60 dead and 25 missing. It is allegedly said that a massive numbers of people will be displaces as a result of the flood.
Since top-ranking generals fled from North Korea to South, the North Korean government has tightened up its security system. However, the heavy flood damaged not only several guard posts, a barbed-wire fence around the border line in North Korea but also CCTVs and fences built by the Chinese government. It is reported that the boarder guards who were stationed for surveillance over the populations in the border regions suffered the most.
We need to pray for North Koreans who are suffering from the flood. They need help. Please pray also for North Koreans who are trying to escape to find safe ways to get out and for the day of reunification to come quickly.
Father, thank You for the Scripture in Psalm 59 verse 16 “But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.” We pray for the North Korean refugees who have been afflicted by the flood. Please help them to be given humanitarian aids from the international society and their own government so that they can be sheltered and fed safely and properly. Lord, protect North Korean people who are trying to escape from their land. Please spare their lives and hide them from surveillances around the border area. God, You are the strong tower and the refuge for North Korean wherever they are. So let them have opportunities to hear your Name and the gospel message. Please bring the day of reunification through the gospel message quickly. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
